#The Changing Face of Air and Missile Defence#

With the increasing number of (ballistic) missile-equipped nations, the proliferation of UAVs of various sizes, and growing geopolitical uncertainty in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific regions, Air and Missile Defence programmes and requirements are understandably evolving at a rapid pace.
The value of the Air and Missile Defence market is estimated to reach in excess of $35 billion by 2025. Over the last decade IAMD has established itself as the chosen forum for the global air defence community – discussing strategy, best practice, emerging technologies, and methods for enabling greater cooperation between international partners and allies.
Given the ever increasing threat of radical institutions (both state and non-state) with access to weapons of mass destruction, it is critical that the global air and missile defence community meet once again and discuss how we can best protect our national security and infrastructure against these rising threats.
With this in mind the 10th annual Integrated Air & Missile Defence conference will take place on 29-30 March in London, UK. Ahead of the event, we re-map the changing world of missile defence, from THAAD membership in Asia to Aegis expansion in Eastern Europe…

Trishul Defence Academy- Best SSB Interview Training in Allahabad

Best SSB Interview Training in Allahabad

About Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT)
1.    While the Officers Intelligence Rating (1 to 5) derived from candidate's performance in Verbal and Non-Verbal tests, is important, the PPDT is the most important test in the Screening Process to qualify for the next stage of SSB selection process.
2.    PPDT is like a mini SSB selection procedure, where the three assessors (IO, GTO & Psychologist) sit together to assess candidate's performance in the Picture Description. This task is like Do or Die for candidates , as their Destiny (whether to retain for further selection process) is decided in 20 to 25 minutes of discussion process.

3.    While candidate's OIR may fluctuate from Rating 1 to 5, their performance during the Picture Description Phase HAS TO BE IMPACT FULL on the assessors. A candidate may score 1 or 2 as OIR, but if the assessors grade him as 'NO' during Picture Description, he will NOT BE RECOMMENDED for the next phase & if a candidate with OIR 4 or 5 gets 'YES' during Picture Description & the three assessors have graded him 'YES', the candidate makes it to the next phase.

Psychological Tests - Trishul Defence Academy

“Gentlemen, in forces we are not looking for any extraordinary men. We are looking for ordinary men who will do extraordinary things when the time comes".

Psychological Tests

Psychological Tests conducted in SSB are aimed at the scientific study of mental functions and behaviors. A highly qualified Psychologist will take your tests at SSB.
You will be brought under stress in Psychological tests by giving you very short time and then your potential will be judged by your answers which you have to write on the sheets provided to you.

Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) is the first test in Psychologist Test Series.
In this test a set of provocative yet ambiguous pictures are shown to the you, as you are required to interpret a story from the picture hence the test is some times also called as picture interpretation technique.
You are required to write your story on the following points.
1. What has led up to the situation.
2. What the characters are feeling and thinking.
3. What is happening at the moment.
4. What is the final outcome of the story.
Word Association Test (WAT) is the Second test at Service Selection Boards in Psychologist series, by this test psychologist reads the personality which a candidate possesses. In this test you will be shown a word and you are required to form a meaningful sentence using that word. On seeing a word there might be different ideas in your mind related to that word but you must write the first spontaneous reaction in your answer sheet. The Time limit is restricted to 15 Seconds so that candidate is not confused with subsequent thoughts and give his first thought only.
For Example- To make you understand this test in a much better way let us take a word Knife now a person who sometimes uses knife to cut vegetable, might write that Knife is used to cut vegetable. However a surgeon also uses knife in operation so he will write the sentence in his own way and if one ever got badly injured by knife then one might wright that knife should be carefully used. So, by all these examples we wants to tell you that how greatly a particular world can help Psychologist to judge your personality.

Situation Reaction Test (SRT) is another test at Service Selection Boards in Psychologist series, this is test of your common sense, you will be given some situations which occurs in our daily life and your answer will help the Psychologist to judge your mentality.
You will be given a booklet containing 60 situations which you have to answer in 30 minutes, this time limit has been intentionally shortened as to ensure that the candidate gives the first reaction which comes to his mind without thinking much over it.
You must answer the situation as a normal person and not like Rajnikant or Superman, write quickly and use punctuation marks as the time given to you is less.

Self Description test which is also know as Self Appraisal or Self Story Writing, is the last test in Psychologist test series at Service Selection Boards.
This test gives an idea to the Psychologist regarding how deep the candidate has knowledge about him, weather he knows his Qualities and Shortcomings or not.

Following are the points on which you have to describe the details.

1 Parents/Guardians Opinion

2 Teachers/Employers Opinion

3 Classmates/Colleges/Friends Opinion

4 Your own Opinion

5 Qualities you would like to develop for future

Trishul Defence Academy- Useful Tips for NDA Written Examination

                               Trishul Defence Academy

USEFUL NDA WRITTEN EXAM TIPS TO HELP YOU CLEAR THE EXAMINATION

1 Solving previous year's question papers will help much
If you are really serious about passing the written exam and scoring well in it, consider solving as many question papers that you can lay your hands upon. The trend so far has been that the blueprint of the written examination has not changed significantly over all these years.
The figures in different years’ question papers may be different, but the style of the questions asked each year are the same! Upon solving previous years’ question papers, you’ll come across the ‘style of the questions’. Since the same styled questions are asked in the exam, you won’t have much trouble solving them! This is also a good way to get the necessary ‘exam practice’
2 Learn the shortcuts, when it comes to Mathematics
The mathematics part of the exam is a bit tricky. The questions asked in it are analytical and needs to be worked upon to find the solution. As long as you don’t know the shortcut method, it will for sure take much time and efforts to find the right answer. This often results in waste of time and marks!
Learning the shortcut methods using the guide book will help you save time. This will eventually help you attend all the questions asked in the paper.

3 Time management is of key importance
It is all about managing the time that has been allotted in a good manner. Try mastering the shortcut methods and save time. Don’t waste time solving a question that you don’t have any idea about. Instead of that, move on to the next question. Always keep an eye on your wrist watch.

4 Beware of negative marking
Like almost all the MCQ styled entrance tests, this examination also has the ‘negative marks’ system. As per this system, each wrong question attempted by the candidate will result in 0.25 marks being deducted from the grand total!
This means that 4 wrong answers can get 1 mark deducted from your score! Thus, keeping this negative marking system in mind, never go for wild guesses while answering the question paper.
Leave the questions that you are not quite sure about. To an extent, intelligent guessing can be used. But never attempt wild guessing. It may end up ruining your final score.

5 Work on your space management skills
Wondering what space management is all about? Well, when it comes to mathematics, to solve questions, some or the other sort of rough work is involved. Such rough work requires blank space. You may do such stuff in your mind too, if you are exceptionally smart!
But almost all of us will need to do rough work on the blank spaces provided. But the problem is that the amount of blank space provided is not too much. It is quite limited, to be honest. So, in order to tackle this issue and to prevent ourselves from running out of blank space, we must practice space management.
Learn to do calculations and rough work in as limited space as possible. Also, do much of the task using mental arithmetic rather than written work.

6 TV and NEWS Paper can be of help
As mentioned above, Current Affairs forms an integral part of this examination. To clear the exam and score well, this section must be well attended to!
The best way to do this task is by making use of Television and NEWS Papers. Make use of them to stay up to date on topics associated with Current Affairs as well as National and International NEWS. Guide books alone won’t help you master Current Affairs. That’s when TV and NEWS Papers comes handy!

7 Extensive reading is the way to score in English section
If you are naturally strong in English since your school days, you won’t have much problem dealing with the English section of the examination. Otherwise, you’ll have to polish your skills.
The best way to do this is by reading. Reading English story books, novels, NEWS Papers etc will help you improve your language as well as build vocabulary at the same time. Believe me, it will also improve your grammar and writing skills to an extent.

8 History of India: Don’t ignore it
It may well be boring to prepare history section. But at least don’t skip the part associated with the history of our country! Lots of questions are asked, which are related to Indian history. Skipping this section will prove to be a costly mistake! Prepare this section well.
Taking care of the above aspects will make sure that you’ll pass the written part with flying colors! If necessary, you may also go for Coaching classes and programs. They’ll ensure that your learning process is complete and an accelerated one! And remember to practice. The more you practice, the better will be your speed and time management skills! Best of luck!
